Spring Patio Refresh – Drab To Fab Color Explosion!
Here is a quick peek at the Drab Patio Furniture, such as it was. It was perfect for our house in Corpus but I wanted something exuberant and lively! This is the boring brown faux wicker furniture on the dull blue rug. I have tried for years to find a Turquoise rug with no luck. This area is actually next to where we usually have the furniture. It’s the uncovered portion of our very large patio. I have been using the covered part all spring to work on furniture due to rain and heat. I have restored it to the entertaining area instead of the work area!
This is the very same patio furniture given new life with some 7 pints of white paint! I just love it! so bright and white and cheerful! Oh! That’s Sophie the German Shepherd peeking out of the drapes! She wanted to be out with me but she’s too much (help?) They always want to be in the middle of what I’m doing!
I guessed you have noticed by now that this rug is not exactly Turquoise? It’s hard to buy online when it comes to colors. After a couple of misses, I liked this one enough to keep it! It is lively and colorful!
There are also only 2 back pillows. I wanted some Pink Flamingo’s. Ordered 2 different sets online from 2 different vendors. One set looked completely different than they did online and the other set has been lost since July 3rd! So only 2 Pillows for my Spring Patio Refresh! Cést La Vie!
I did not want totally matching cushions and pillows. I wanted something fun! How do you like the “Chillows?”
A serving tray is a must for a wicker ( even a faux wicker) Cocktail Table! Nothing sits straight! This was white when I found it for 8 smalls in clearance. You know the power of the spray paint! (If you paint it, It will work!)(that’s why It’s called Spring Patio Refresh!)
The “Imports” !
I like to serve hors d’oeuvres with our cocktails. I found the cutest little wood tray with a melamine plate set in it with little (you know it!) Pink Flamingo’s on it! The best part is that it was made in India and not China! (well, the best best part was the Pink Flamingo’s !)
Today we are serving my very own proprietary blend of white wine Tropical Sangria! I don’t have a name for it yet though! I should have a “name the Sangria contest”! Oh! and if you want the recipe subscribe to my news letter and you will not miss it when it posts! Coming soon! (and maybe a contest too!) (with prizes!)
For hors d’oeuvres on a warm day I like to serve cool Proscuitto wrapped Melon. This is Honeydew but Cantaloupe is nice too! (can you see the Flamingo’s?)
I don’t know about you but I can’t get enough Pink Flamingo’s ! (you noticed, huh?) My Pink Flamingo hors d’oeuvre picks came from Amazon and I have a link HERE where you can score some for yourself! (affiliate? yes!)
Also on our hors d’oeuvre tray we have grilled Pineapple that was first soaked in Coconut Milk then sprinkled with brown sugar and topped with a Maraschino Cherry! Mmmmm!
It’s so awesome that I found the big Flamingo colored flowers! I placed them in this oversized Ocean Blue vase.
I filled the vase with small Seashells to give it that Seaside vibe as well as a couple of Jazzy candles (Island Hibiscus, Mmmmm!) which will be so lovely as the sun goes down!
The two bright green tables were upcycled. We have had them a couple years now and they were yellowing. I wanted to add more green to go with the rug. I think I succeeded.
My Pink Flamingo wine glasses. Gold rimmed to go with my fave straws! I placed them on Flamingo Pink woven coasters!
The Next Best Color To Pink….Gold!
Ah, yes! Here are my fave gold straws. Next to those, in the Pink Flamingo “thingy”, yes, thingy. It’s really a plant pot I think. it’s too pretty for that so I use it for my bar accoutrement. I can’t very well call it a plant pot when I don’t use it for a plant now, can I? So “thingy” it is! (my husband begs me to speak English!)
Gold Pineapple Swizzle Sticks are a must if you are using gold straws! All the best people use them! I, of course, buy them on the cheap! ( all the best people do you know!) LOL!
On our left side bright as grass green table we have some effervescent Pink Lemonade for the Teetotalers “chillin” in a Flamingo (what else?!) Pink ice pail. yes, pail. Not a bucket. We’re not that high brow.
Angel Lillies (one of their many names), One of my fave plants. These are doing very well this year!
I found these LED lighted necklaces at the Dollar Store! I’m using them for Fairie Lights in my plants! Even better, they’re (you got it!) Pink Flamingo’s! So pretty at night!
I have 3 steps leading up to the back door I like to decorate also but it gets so little sun it’s hard to keep plants with color here. I went ahead and placed some Petunias there for the Spring Patio Refresh but they can’t live there! (just renting space!) (did you notice the Pink Flamingo Plack?!)
The End (not quite!)
